Understanding Why We Should Be Like Christ

Have you ever had an "Aha moment" when something you had known your entire life suddenly took a deeper, clearer meaning? Maybe it isn't even one moment. Sometimes it kind of creeps along and you feel like you're grasping at straws for a little while, knowing there is something there, but being unable to catch onto it, and then suddenly you look at it and realize that it's what you knew all along, but now it makes total sense. It's kind of like putting together a puzzle, and I have the picture on the box, but as I discover and reach for each piece and figure out how it fits it in with the other pieces, I come to realize why each piece fits where and how it does, and the completed picture has a deeper significance. I've been having one of those grasping moments for the last several weeks. I think it started a couple months ago when I gave a lesson in Relief Society about charity , and realized that charity isn't simply loving others, but it's l...

Tender Mercies, Murmuring, Faith and Puzzles.

Yesterday I got to go to an Adult Education Institute class. A sweet sister who loves nearby has offered to give me rides so I can go. I went last year and really enjoyed it, so I'm looking forward to this year, even though we have a new teacher. We're studying the Book of Mormon this year. Instead I'm sitting at my computer with my head in a bit of a haze. Am I still sick? not really. My nose is still stuffy and I have a lingering cough, and a tiny touch of a headache if I think about it, but other than that I feel pretty well. Yet my brain is still a bit fuzzy. I guess I'll take it easy today. I wouldn't want a relapse. The weather is actually cold today! The newspaper said the high would be in the 50's, and after months in the 70s and 80s, that seems COLD! It's also damp outside. It isn't really raining, but it is damp. John and Josh are home from school today, coughing and really congested. I might have left the windows open for the humidity if it weren't so cold out since my humidifier doesn't have a filter for it and my vaporizer is broken. Instead, I have a huge pot simmering gently on the stove...
