Halloween 2011

Happy Halloween everyone! A few weeks ago the kids had a day off school, so we began our preparations for the holiday by decorating pumpkins to add to our decor. Before long we had an entire family of tiny pumpkins.
Josh decorated his pumpkin to be something like a space alien.
 
We also made some ghosts out of cheese cloth and spray starch.

They turned out pretty neat.
 
Hannah also made Halloween cookies.
On Halloween day, the boys had a parade at the school, followed by parties in their classrooms. Peter was a "Mummy Yellow" crayon.

John was a "Franken-Green" crayon.

Here is Joshua in his "Jumba" Costume (from Lilo and Stitch).


On Halloween night all the kids wore their costumes. Hannah was also a crayon, "Blood Red".
We carved pumpkins and roasted pumpkin seeds.

The kids went trick-or-treating around the neighborhood and came back with tons of loot. What a great Halloween!

I recently told my bishop that I enjoyed giving talks in Sacrament Meeting, and it is true. I didn't expect, however, that I would get an email from a bishopric member on Thursday last week to say that his talks for Sunday had to leave town, and would I be willing to speak? Crochet Keychains in my Etsy Shop

 I'm nearing the one year anniversary of the start of my Etsy shop:  Lady M's Menagerie ! Many thanks to those who have supported me in this endeavor!  I'll confess that my enthusiasm for the shop waned a bit over the last few months. My enthusiasm for most things was dampened as I was dealing with a thyroid related hormone imbalance. I had no energy for anything and just felt tired and blah all the time. Thankfully, about a month ago I met with a new endocrinologist who took me seriously when I told her I was tired all the time in spite of my bloodwork showing I "should" be fine. She altered my prescription and added a new one, and finally I am starting to feel a little more energetic. (Yay!)  So with that newfound energy, I wanted to add something new to the shop... the question was, what?  The first weekend in October I spent several hours watching General Conference and crocheting mini animals. The Year in Review: Peter in 2022

Peter loves drama, and he's good at it too. This year he has been in production after production, developing his talents. In March he played the munchkin mayor in The Wizard of Oz. ( See here for my blog on that ).  In April he played a lead role in the one act play Abra Cadaver. ( Here's my blog on that. ) At the end of his Junior year in high school, he was elected as co-president of the drama club and was granted stewardship of the traditional Kermit the Frog doll for acting. (There are four stuffed frogs that are passed from a graduating drama student to the drama student that student feels best exemplifies that role. Josh received the "Kermie" for tech while he was in high school. Other Kermies are passed for costumes and light/sound.) In July he performed in the community theater production of The Servant of Two Masters.
