It has been a busy week. First, there is the shopping, visiting teaching, trips to the library, and running kids to and from school, activity days and scouts. Add to that the constant presence of a little boy with a hundred times the energy that you would imagine could emanate from a small four year old body, one who persistently demands my undivided attention, whether he wants to read a book or is playing hide-and-seek with his plethora of stuffed animals. I've been busy with Primary. My second counselor is moving to Utah at the end of this week (she got three weeks notice that her husband was being promoted and needed to move back to Utah) so last Sunday she was released and a new counselor was called. The previous Sunday, four new teachers were called, and so while praying and pondering diligently to figure out who my new counselor was to be, I've had to figure out which teachers to assign to which classes and make sure they had the proper lesson manuals, supplies and i...

Last night Steven and I went to the Boulder Dinner Theater to see "Singin' in the Rain". We had a blast. Last year, we went to a tiny theater in Denver to see "As You Like It". The cast of only six people performed multiple roles each, which was fine until they got to the last wedding scene when everyone was supposed to be on stage at once, and the two girls were switching wigs on stage. Anyway, we realized that we really enjoy watching plays together, and so decided to make it a Valentines Day tradition. We arrived at the Boulder Dinner Theater around 6:30 and were directed to seats at a table set for four. We found out that another couple had the other seats, so we were prepared to share the table with complete strangers. We ate our salads and bread, and eventually another couple showed up. They sat down, were served their salads, and then - without even touching the salads, they stood up and left. At first I thought they were making a phone call or somethin...

This morning I was bored. I felt like doing something, but I didn't really know what. Eventually I remembered that Hannah had been complaining that she didn't have very many Sunday dresses for winter, so I thought I'd try to make her one. Unfortunately, it was freezing cold outside and I didn't feel like going to the store for fabric and stuff, so I decided to see what I could make with materials I had at home. I had some ugly fabric that I bought a long time ago for a quilt and then decided not to use, and I had a pattern, but with short sleeves instead of long sleeves like Hannah wanted, so I altered it. I also didn't have a zipper, but I did have buttons on hand... so I made her a pioneer looking dress. Now all she needs is a bonnet.   She might also need an apron.  I have one from the Trek, but it might be too big for her. Okay. I've been really bad about the blog the last week. I guess the problem is just that I have nothing to say and no energy to say it. I've been SO TIRED! Not really "sick" tired, or "haven't slept in a week" tired, but "drained and don't feel like doing anything at all--even fun stuff" tired. I've had a lot of headaches lately, so maybe that has something to do with it. I'm wondering if the headaches are because I'm dehydrated because it is so dry here. I'm trying to drink more water, when I think about it, which apparently isn't often enough. I have things that I've wanted to do, like practice free hand sewing on my machine, or carve my covered wagon for our ward's second annual pinewood derby coming up in March. I've done a little on both, but after fifteen minutes or half an hour I lose interest. I have read some, but I don't have any really good books to read at the moment that I haven't alread...
