I'm sick. (Warning - possibly TMI)

First, I just feel tired.
Then headache and scratchy throat.
Next, snot reigns supreme.

Is started a week ago, and I *thought* it was just my body not adjusting to daylight savings time very well. (see last post)  I was exhausted and dragging. By Wednesday, a dull headache had set in and my throat felt scratchy. It just went downhill from there. I spent Thursday and Friday taking it easy, laying around in bed reading or knitting. On Friday I took a three hour nap.

On Saturday, I continued to lay in bed as much as possible. Steven was an angel and did the grocery shopping and errands, so I never had to leave the house. By that time my nose had started dripping, and I could feel the pressure building in my sinuses.

Yesterday, I went to church. It was just a cold, right? I wasn't running a fever, the scratchiness in my throat was very minor, and the snot, though abundant, was running clear... I just wouldn't breathe on anyone. I went to choir practice, and tried not to breath on anyone. I joked about singing bass. I loaded up my pockets with tissues, and was grateful that my nose didn't drip too badly while I led the music in Sacrament Meeting. In Relief Society, besides playing the piano, I got to stand up for a few minutes to talk about our plan for Provident Living (Did I mention that I'm the new ward provident living specialist?) By the time I got home, I just wanted to lie down and take a nap... but I couldn't. I had a cub committee meeting in the afternoon to plan the pinewood derby, which will be our pack meeting next month.

After I returned home from the meeting, it was almost time for dinner, and then, I had planned on taking Hannah to a mission prep class and attending a stake choir practice, but I was too exhausted. I had to go to bed. Steven ended up taking Hannah, and I did go to bed... but by then I think I was over tired. I was still awake when Steven got home a little after 8. I was still awake at 10. I was still awake at midnight. How are you supposed to sleep when your brain won't shut up, and when your nose keeps dripping, and when there is so much pressure in your skull you wonder if it's going to explode?

This morning, I got up to join family scripture reading, but went back to bed instead of exercising. I woke up to to get the boys off to school, then returned to bed. I woke up when the phone rang at 9:30, but didn't answer it, and quickly went back to sleep. I finally woke up  a little before noon and felt awake enough to shower - because the steam helps drain some of the mucus from my head and ease the pressure a little. I wonder how much longer this will last. I'm so ready to be healthy again!
